More Paintings,
and a One Day Show.

Hi there! Here are some of my new paintings, they aren't up on the website yet, but will be soon.

I decided to take a painting workshop  with a teacher named Alex Shundi. He set it up as a master's class, with a lot of hard work and critiques.

One thing about Alex, his goal is to forward people in what they are doing, not get them to paint like him. That's exactly what I was looking for. Not to mention that he studied with Marino Marini, one of my most favorite Italian artists.

We talked a lot about art history, and expressing the feeling of your, as the artist, intent. He helped me become even more aware of shadows, one of my favorite things, and the depth of thinking that can go into a simple thing like a blue sky. Besides it was lovely to get together with a group of other artists, in my new friend Jackie Butler's beautiful studio, and paint.

So, I've managed to get a small body of work underway, and I'm taking what I have on the road back to California, for a show at Gail Johnson's one day open house with my dear friend and ceramic artist Paula Teplitz, and Tracy Sylvester. (August 2, from 2 to 5).

After the show, what hasn't yet sold will be posted on my website. I'm giving the people who attend the first chance to purchase the work.

I'm looking forward to seeing my old homeland and many of my friends again.

When I get back, it will be paint, paint and paint some more. I'm working on a sculpture of an Airdale dog, for a friend who's beloved pal passed on, but mostly right now I'm focusing on painting.

Back to work,
See you in a while! ~ Paula
