April, hats?

One of my favorite comedies is the Monty Python's "Meaning of Life"
(It's kind of dark humor...)
At one point, at a corporate board meeting, after a lengthy summation of the meaning of life, and the importance of calming our minds, to get in touch with our true nature,
the speaker asks if there are any questions, and he is asked, "What was that about hats?"

Somehow Easter and Hats are linked in my mind...

These are some sketches from a canoe
trip down the Green River in Utah, with
some dear friends. Not exactly at Easter time, but connected with hats.

I've been doing more small paintings, just little studies, to get my observation abilities in shape.  I'll show you some more next letter.

Sketching, and sketchbooks are a definite passion of mine, so I wanted you to see these.

I have books that date back to my early years as a teenager. My favorite ones are those that took form as journals of trips, to France or Italy, or Portugal, or here in beautiful America.

Often I'll take a camera along as well, but those photos usually end up in a box somewhere, and I rarely if ever look at them. Whereas the sketch books are often browsed and laughed over, even if they aren't from a specific journey.

I draw what ever catches my eye, when there are a few moments enough to catch the image.  If what I'm drawing happens to move, well then I just try to recall what was there, or else add something else that managed to remain stationary.

Have you ever tried keeping a journal of your day to day activities, or a trip?
Any drawings you add will only make it more fun and memorable.

Back to work,
see you in a while! ~Paula
