A dramatic apple. Note it's handsome contrast                 of green and the ripeness of the red, and then                 that reflextion in it's shadow...                This one was painted on a piece of 100% cotton museum                quality board that was coated with gesso, (essentially                a primer coating that protects the cotton fibers from the oil                in the paint. ) There is a 1/4" border, and the  slightly rough                edges of the paint can be seen. The colors of the actual                painting are a light goldy color, not greenish as it shows                on some computer monitors. There are certain paint colors                that don't reproduce well.
